Has anyone ever tried these? There's i-doser, brainwave generator, and I think a few others.
How it works is you need stereo headphones and it produces one frequency in one ear and then a slightly higher or lower frequency in the other ear. The tones mix naturally in the brain and induce an altered state of consciousness.
I've found them to work slightly but you really have to sit there and do nothing but listen to these annoying noises for like 30min-1hr.
Some say they work amazingly and others not so much. The french roast coffee one in i-doser will wake you up if your tired and it only takes 5 mins with a pretty high success rate. If you want to go about trying this, start with that one.
i-doser and brainwave generator cost money but torrents are your friend!
Share your experiences :-)
Yeah, these are supposed to be great trip toys for DXM and K users.

There pretty good, never tried them when i've been on a substance. I've got quite a few by Brain Sync, Hemi Sync, Dane_Spotts, Mind-Tek.
The Hemi Sync - Catnapper cd(well mp3s) works quite well... though i usually just listen to the first half and as im about to drift of to sleep, I then take the earphones out... i dont know if it successfully wakes you up like it should after 20mins.
Also tried The Visit & Cloudscapes both by the Monroe Institute... there pretty good but I bet the visualisation techniques the guide you through would be a lot easier if your where stoned or on some shrooms.
There easily attainable if you search google for forums linking hosting these files on rapidshare/megashare... etc, a hell of a lot quicker the p2p... but remember kids piracy is a crime

On the simlar subject a mate of mine brough a weird device that sounds like this. It had glasses you put on and flashed diffrent colours and head phones which played weird tones. Had a go and was relaxin. But from what he said on diffrent setting got some good effects.

I still have 4GB of "digital drugs" on my mp3-player. It hasn't worked, never will and my guess is, its all placebo.
When your a sceptic person these wont work for you. If you're easy to manipul...errr too open minded, these could offer some placebo effects for you.

Neuro-Programmer 2 is the best.
The "science" behind binaural beats is questionable at best however, the whole brain wave synchronisation thing sounds like BS to me.
Listening to tones will have some effect if you know what you are doing though, which is no surprise considering they've been used widely in mediation for thousands of years.
Tibetan chanting, classical Indian music, etc.
If you focus your attention on something for long enough you will begin to relax and enter a trance like state.
Drone type sounds or tones seem to work the best.
But you're not going to "get high" like you would from taking drugs. :p

You can listen to a track here, although there's not much point if you don't have some decent headphones which also block external noise. I found it quite interesting, be that psychosomatic or it actually doing what it says it does - the effect is the same :P

Couldn't agree more - complete PLACEBO. I suppose if you really want and believe something strong enough, well.......you know what I mean. :)

I looked into these a while ago but never really got them to 'work', I saw q-bert talking about something similar he used to meditate with, although that guy is already on a planet of his own.

I've tried these with an open mind, and while useful for meditation, they lack any "drug" effect. Kind of neat to use while on mushrooms.

I know this thread is old as dirt but I have to weigh in.
I tried the i-doser thing about a year or two ago. I was so excited about it after reading reviews and posts on the i-doser forum. I can say it's all bullshit. I tried at least 20 different tones and it never had any effect on me whatsoever. Not even a placebo.
I'm convinced that the positive reviews and message board posts either came from easily impressionable kids, or from the people that were selling the stuff. They tried to say that if you downloaded the beats rather than actually buying them that you weren't getting the real deal. That makes absolutely no sense to me whatsoever. They were in the same file format and were playable through the i-doser program on my computer. Just a ploy to sell more crap to people that are desperate to get high.
I will say though, the idea of doing it while on psychedelics is intriguing. But honestly, I don't see how it would be any better than just listening to some trippy music.

Well, it is a little bit different than normal music so it might give some interesting effect.

I suppose you're right. But if I was already tripping I'd probably rather listen to regular music than have to put on the headphones and close my eyes and all that. It's not the most comfortable thing to do and you risk falling asleep and wasting your high lol. Then again it could be just what it takes to give you the high of your life, I really don't know.

Yeah, regular music is probably better for simple enjoyment. Still kind of interesting.
