Im from the UK and love all things techno,good to see you Aussie's are enjoying hardstyle,the harder and faster the better in my opinion...We have a good free party scene over here,trouble is the Police spoil them everyso often...I'd love to go to one of your party's in the middle of no-where,miles from them locals phoning up...you lot down there in Australia are so lucky..How bigs acid techno or psy-trance over there....Going to check out what your hardstyles like.......Keep the techno flag flying high.:)

Must admit a lot of psy-trance I think Is dull and boring these days.The good tunes now though are killers,the sounds and production are cutting edge.I was about to see the scene start in the mid 90's and remember the original sound and heard it mature and get harder...Now though young people only hear that Israeli style trance,thats seems to have caught on world wide.They dont know how it sounded years ago..It is good how it's spreading round the world,new ideas coming in..I must admit im a hardtechno fan at heart.And the only trance im into is Dark psy-trance now,it's faster and real party music.There are some really good mixes about "Flower Powder" have put their party's on line,loads of good tunes mixed perfectly.Well worth a listen for people that like it harder..sorry I've gone into one Its the cat..Before I go I've got only one disk of it,carn't find anymore unfortunately.But to me it's the best I've heard in ages.It's banging,around 160bpm+ and fast enough to really go round the psychedelic bend completly..I call it psy-gabba does anyone know whats it called or a artist making it.:)

I have been to a few psytrance parties (we call the bush doofs) and yeah its pretty rad being in the middle of nowhere and everyones going mental as the sun rises... Melbourne is considered the place for Techno in Oz, so you gotta come here if you do!

Most people here put shit on hardstyle/hard dance becuase it can attract a lot of ferals.. who then go ahead and dose themselves to the eyeballs on GHB and ruin it for everyone by ODing... Still I really dig it when im smashed (yes im a feral!) :D

.. and psytrance is awesome too, infected mushroom & J00F are sweet as. I listened to Kindzadza and was digging it.. but thats pretty much the only dark-psy i've heard.

You were around the rave scene in the mid 90's? That must have been awesome.. I hate going to big festivals now because the people it attracts are more aggressive or posers, but i remember when it used to be a lot friendlier and more.. eclectic?.. Anyways, the music is still out there for all of us to enjoy and thats the main thing i think.

Good to hear you have good parties in your lovely countryside.I'd love to dance the night away,under a completely black sky,looking at new stars(over here light pollution is visible almost everywhere,that orange glow on the sky line)Id love to be right out in the sticks,miles from anybody.I bet you could get well lost trying to find the party.I've driven allnight in convoys of cars trying to find them.The thrill of a goodnight out and driving for hours is a buzz in its own right,and then you find it and the sound pulls you home to the speakers at last...Party's you carnt beat them..Talking about psy trance,im going to a local fezzy in two weeks and Eat-Static are playing live.These boyz have been going since the beginning,they came out of Ozric Tentacles .Got to mention them as they have made some of the most psychedelic space rock ever made..Honestly these boyz need to be heard tripping then they have control of you..They must be good Hallucinogen said Ozrics album Erpland is his all time favourite album ever.Thats respect..Had to tell the world about the Ozrics. If you trip give em a go they are masters.Anyway Eat Static have made some classic psy trance,but they are so much better live.Banging away,I carn't wait to see them.Went right into one then....Back to Oz,when you have a party how many rigs turn up to them.And do they have separate rigs playing Techno,drum n bass,dark psy trance,gabba and chill out..Hows gabba techno viewed over there,coz some party's gabba is all they play,its k music..Im off for some spice after this epic..Keep the music coming,and the spirit alive.bye

Ah dude, reading that makes me realise that you guys have it way better when it comes to parties (maybe not setting wise, the bush here is pretty awesome), the way you describe the diversity of music at a a party just isnt the same here... its usually all psytrance, or at a festival electro/trance or hardtrance/hardstyle/hardcore... actually theres one big festival that plays a range of music but its once a year. When i started going to raves around 1999/2000 you could hear trance/hard trance/techno/breaks/drum & bass all at the one event but these days its less diverse. There is one club here in melb that i know of that will have hardcore/Gabba and hard techno/schranz played regularly but thats it.

Still, the bushdoofs and techno events i have attended have been the best in terms of vibe/friendly people... If you got any links of good sets then post them as i tend to go through a few! Mr E,sorry I was miles away.Yeah Flower Powder are good storming mixes.Some go on for 5 hrs thats a mix in my opinion.I love dark psy because its faster and more twisted.Some times psy trance really sounds slow especially after a dance to a techno rig....Im older than psy-trance,I was a raver since about 89 and loved the way techno was improving over the years,until it lost that house sound and matured in to a right racket eventually.I used to love the industrial techno that was about in the early 90's.And the partys were life changing once your in to it.I had a miss spent youth back then lol.We used to have free festivals before techno,thats why I got carried away with the Ozric Tentacles.They played their brand of ethnic psychedelic space rock for free at the fezzies,I've seen them play all night given the chance.When techno got going it became part of the free festival scene.But the Goverment didn't like the anarchy of it all.They were the good old days of old.To many people were enjoying themselfs.So the Goverment brought in a savage law in to stop partys happening.I think it's either 3 or 5 people together anywhere could be deemed against the law.The Criminal Justice Act stopped all the free festivals.But we still partied hard it was a right laugh back then when it was all new...Festivals over here have sold out,Glastonbury did years ago.We do have good festivals with the right atmosphere but you have to be choosy..Saying that you carn't beat a good festival,when everything falls into place its magic..
