View Full Version : Privacy Measures

The following privacy measures will be taken ... any other suggestions please let me know.

IP addresses will not be logged.
Hosted on a dedicated server which is owned and run by me, based in a secure underground facility here in the pacific.
No one has access to the database or server (no external admins, hosting companies etc)
Database will be backed up manually by me onto an encrypted drive once a week, which is then stored in a safe.
The Executive Members section will be monitored by admins and moderators and only nominated / trusted members will be allowed in.

If there were ANY security concerns or possible breach of privacy, as a precautionary measure I can backup the site locally and wipe the server instantly.

There is no need to use the term SWIM unless you really want to, but just use your common sense.

Cheers

People should also use Tor or something similar while accessing the forum, just to be sure.

Key words should be filtered to their nicknames.
ex: mephedrone or meph gets filtered to miaow to avoid the google search problem all the other forums have ;) Also any plans for an irc server?

Ohh great idea ... will sort this in a couple of hours. IRC server sounds like a good idea also, will look into this.

If you have access to the server you really should install Peerguardian 2 (http://phoenixlabs.org/pg2/) It filters out all the governments ip's, bots ip's, and malware ip's. Its used for bittorent users but I've seen some grey area sites using it. Its for linux os x and windows.

I'm never sure how to set those things up on my PC. Every time I look into an anonymous proxy they all say they're not a "magic solution" and need to be set up correctly to work effectively. Other aspects of the OS, such as java and flash etc have to be removed/changed otherwise they can undermine the whole point of the proxy too, apparently. It seems so complex and they bring problems of their own so in the end I don't bother. Any tips?

I've got nothing to hide really but I do like the extra level of scurity they offer.

Get torpark (http://www.download.com/Torpark/3000-2144_4-10660327.html)
Its a mini build of firefox with tor built in. it does everything for you

That looks useful, thanks.

Can I keep Firefox3 on my PC and run Torpark alongside it? So I can use normal Firefox3 for some things (when I need the speedy access) and then open Torpark when I want secure anonymous access?

Yup, you can even put it on a usb memory stick and run it directly from that;)

Peerguardian offers a false sense of security. Government agencies will use speial unkown ip's if they are on some undercover mission. Peerguardian isn't going to stop it. Also Tor is a good idea but it causes things to load so slow. It will be hard to enforce a Tor only policy.

could we please have a cannabis section!, and a illegal section

Some Tor exit nodes are controlled by the FBI. It's harder but it's not completely secure. Nothing is, though.

Also, what about connecting through HTTPS? And, will be this forum indexed by google?

2nded https. even self signed would be good.

An ssl certificate would be good actually. Peerguardian would help abit though.
Also will this site be indexed by google? You can add nofollow codes to forums that are a little less legal

SSL certificate would be good. Also, if we could all generate GPG keys and if need be we can contact each other in an encrypted manner, which is very secure.

Sure! I will work on this.

We should also join a private cult where we could all worship Neo, and we could recognize each other by doing a secret elaborated handshake.

Then if the CIA and the MI5 want to attack us, we will be protected by the 457th set of rules which stipulates that the SWIM formulation is a legal disinfectant.

a vedodrs forum (for vendors to introduce themselves) would be nice as well as a generall off-topic section (maybe put in a sub section alongside the health/wellbeing section, as its somehow displaced inbetween the drug topics

a growers forum and a nootropics forum would also be nice :)

extend the first post of a topic's max legnth to 25000 characters. 10000 isn't enough for large guides

How about using the anonym.to javascript. It takes all outbound links and hides lhf from being the referrer.

http://anonym.to/en.html

Here is the code:

<script src="http://js.anonym.to/anonym/anonymize.js" type="text/javascript"></script>

<script type="text/javascript"><!--
protected_links = "www.legalhighsforum.com";

auto_anonymize();
//--></script>

Yeah I googled a couple usernames from here including mine and it links directly to LHF. Is there away to correct this?

Pandy

Heya yeah that's concerning :confused:

Neo this is the same for the TM as well :confused:

what can be done? blocking every name from search engines sounds like a bit a work?

Aussieboy

Agreed it is a little concerning.... I like the idea of full aninomity (I think that is how it is spelt)

Pandy has highlighted the importance of discretion esp. with "AU" Legal High discussion.

I was hoping however that I wouldn't have to be as discrete as say, Champs because of the added privacy measures, but in light of the google search engines still recognising forum member names and pointing a BIG finger to this forum I realise it is always better to be over cautious when discussing availabilty and use of ANY legal high.

On a lighter note, I googled Aussieboy and am pretty confident that the thousands of search results include many many online users that go by that handle have pushed LHF to the rear of the search results...

Scudinvi on the other hand...:p

Yeah Aussieboy, I did a google search on my username and several others from here ,and google came up with Ligithit and Champs. (even though they're closed) It also came up with Legal Highs Forum.

I'm also a member of Fuckled, and google does not bring up my username from there...Go figure!.
