Coffee appreciation society :D

Man I love the stuff, proper filter coffee - none of this freeze dried Nescafe bullshit. Strong, black, a touch of sugar, makes a kratom or weed session just that little bit more enjoyable.

Or even better one of those Italian things you put on the hob and it makes it outa the steam, fuckd if I can remember what their called.

I guess you mean a caffettiera? Or the caffettiera moka to be more precise.

I used to love coffee but now that I'm on adderrall its too much stimulaton.

They should start making coffee with caffeine extended release so theres no crash haha.

Bah, coffee is balls. Caffeine sometimes puts me to sleep, and honestly, I don't care for the taste. Also, the smell of it while it's brewing makes my stomach think to take the up elevator.
I'm so jealous, Pira. Adderall is a wonderdrug. But really, I've only used it for functionality.

Oh man, adderall is awesome. You wake up, take your dose, and BAM; productivity.

Plus mixing with piracetam makes for no comedown at all (cept if i got an empty stomach).

My only complaint is the anxiety I get when I smoke and I'm on adderall. Panic attacks are almost always there.

Yeah. I learned that the hard way.

I think I have ADD, though, soooo...
A doctor's visit is in order.
Would really have no reason to use it outside of classes, except on the odd day where I'm craving stimulation and don't have anything more recreational.

Do docs usually prescribe adderall over ritalin for ADHD?

ashxcore

I don't know any adults who are prescribed Ritalin.

Caffeine has four identifiable actions in vitro, but the relationship
between these actions and the drugs effects in vivo are not well
established. In ascending order of dose response (i.e. from most
sensitive to least sensitive) these are:
1. Adenosine receptor blockade, as you have already mentioned
2. Phosphodiesterase inhibition - this enzyme is responsible for the
breakdown of cAMP and therefore this action of the methylxanthines leads
to increased cAMP 2nd messenger functions.
3. Action at Ca++ channels to increase entry of Ca++ into cells and to
decrease sarcolemma sequestration of Ca++. This may be related to the
weak positive inotropic effect of the se drug at high dose rates
(together with increased cAMP dep protein kinase activity due to number
2?)
4. Binding to GABA receptors at the benzodiazepine site (query clinical
relevance because of high KD).

"Around 90 percent of Americans consume caffeine every single day in one form or another. More than half of all American adults* consume more than 300 milligrams (mg) of caffeine every day, making it America's most popular drug by far. Caffeine is a natural component of chocolate, coffee and tea, and is used as an added energy boost in most colas and energy drinks. It’s also found in diet pills and some over-the-counter pain relievers and medicines"

"The coffee you drink as a pick-me-up in the morning could also make you more open to persuasion, researchers say. Evidence from a new study suggests that this happens because caffeine revs up the brain, not because it generally boosts mood"

"Previous studies have show that consuming caffeine can improve one's attention and enhance cognitive performance, with 200 milligrams (equivalent to two cups of coffee) being the optimal dose"

"Moderate doses of caffeine can also make you more easily convinced by arguments that go against your beliefs, say Pearl Martin of the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia, and her colleagues "

"This, say the authors of the study, supports the idea that better mental function - rather than better mood - is the reason that coffee could make a person more easily persuaded, because the volunteers were only more open to persuasion when they could concentrate on and assimilate the persuasive argument.

In light of these findings, people who gulp down lattes at business meetings may want to reconsider how the drink is affecting them, the authors suggest.
