I know this is an old topic but thought id share anyway.
LED grow lights are worthless for growing cannabis, if they were any use everyone would use them instead of hps/mh lamps saving so much leccy. A few people have tried using these and havnt got anything worthwhile from them. Your much better off using a hps lamp or CFL.

nah lots of people have had great success with LEDS,

they are cost effective, they look cool in your wardrobe etc,

it wont produce the best buds but, its good for the stealth grower :p

In no way shape or form is that light going to preform any way near to a 600w hps. It would be better to get some cfl's than LED's imo. TBH i dont think they are cost effective for the amount of light they give out when you can go ang buy a brand new 600w HPS lamp for £70. How many led lights can you get for that money? and will it even come close to producing the same buds as the hps?

No chance will it produce that much but as i said above, it answers what you just said.

Wouldnt CFL's be a better option as they dont produce much heat and are quite cheap at about £20 for a 125w blue or red.

firstly saying that this may be the wrong forum to be asking about thank kind of info... if neo doesn't mind, I'll point you to a forum that will really answer your questions.

secondly, LED's can be a great addition to a lighting source, but they are definitly not sufficient themselves.

the problem is that LED's don't emit a light specrum, but only a single wavelength of light... plants only use a specific spectrum of light (light blue an dark red I beleive, but it could be backwards).
for a cabinet grow, with some nice lowryder or micromini seeds, 2 cfl's and an LED head would be sufficient if you didn't want to buy an HPS

CFL is hot to the touch

whilst you could place your hand on LEDs

With LED'd not producing any heat wouldnt a heater have to be used to raise temps as i cant imagine it being very warm in the grow room.

valseedian your right about the colour spectrum, blue is generally used for veg and red used for flowering although its not totally needed to use one of each as they will both flower and veg under either lights. Red tends to make them strech while in veg though.
