So whats everyones experience with zopiclone? Ive had it a few times previously but just got loads of the stronger 7.5mg pills in rather than 3.75. Tried half one last night and helped me to sleep pretty well. How about after stim use? From what i remember it was hit and miss after stims last time i had it..

They're not super strong but still do help, as do Nytol pills. I find though that if I take more than 7.5mg I just suffer more side effects. It won't knock you out but will help you sleep better afterwards or at least wind down...

In short yes.

I find them quite good.
I have an arsenal of sleep aids for long term insomnia so when using them can alternate different products to keep down tolerance and dependence.
Not something I want to do to often, a full nights "unadulterated" sleep is a real joy.
Messing about with chemicals to sleep can be a godsend in the short term, be very wary using them regularly for any length of time.
Always when possible use a halve or quarter dose, may just be enough to tip you into sleep. If after 15 minutes take some more. Find what dose works for you relative to your inability to sleep. Then when you really need a knock out dose a "normal" dose may do the job.
Plenty of ways to help sleep and good to find your own routine to create "sleep mode"

Exorcise
Turn the tv off an hour before going to bed
No adrenaline inducing activities, pc games etc
Create a habit of something to relax to or do, creating calmness as part of your preparation to sleep
Just found "paul mckenna sleep like a log" mp3 and have found it really helpful
2 of the best tips he advises
Only ever go to bed when ready for sleep, if not ready do stuff
Get up one hour earlier than usual

Being stimmed all night then getting naps in the day can really mess up the bodies natural sleeping rhythms, and may take time to get balanced again.

OK so you've been having a blast, last one at 2.30am yeah right 2 minutes later the suns coming up your eyes are WIDE awake and your mates sorting out just one more......the fifth last one......

When defiantly no more
Need to use up some of the residual stim energy that is left after the euphoria's gone. Do stuff getting up and moving gets the blood circulating stretch out, probably been in 2 different positions for most of the night, clean the house, write a book, do your hobby, whatever. This will also distract you from the craving for just one more and alleviate some of the tense sketchy come down symptoms, breaking the session.
Benzo type drugs help very well after a session because they cause drowzynes and mainly they ease of the sketchyness allowing you to relax down to sleep.
Zipiclone lack the relax down effect so need to help that in with stretching, quick look outside, a beer, chill out music, then they will defiantly help.

Make sure though that you have finished being awake and say to yourself you really want to go to sleep. Say this cos a couple of times with zipiclone they have tripped me out into a cozy veg state staring into nothing for a couple of mins, what 2 hours I've been sponged out not 2 minutes!

yea cheers for the info.

I dont need them to sleep every night, but i will be using them occasionly for a number of things, ie running dry from weed for the first couple days, when i need to change my sleeping pattern (i usually start work mid afternoon but sometimes i have to work at 6am, meaning getting up at 4.30am !), and after stims.

only doing stims at most once a week just now

gonna stick to a half dose (3.75mg) unless i am very stimmed up indeed. What is the highest dose youve ever gone for and how did it work out?

I'm naturally tolerant to most things which affect GABA and without any tolerance at the time, taking 15mg or more of these will cause me to experience mild visual hallucinations. They're a lot like valium as a "recreational" thing, maybe a little less effective and with a few more side effects.

Never taken more than about 30mg at once.

In short, they're better as sleeping pills than anything else, unless you're desperate. IMHO temazepam is a better ocassional sleeping pill if you can get your hands on it, more effective and less side effects.

In fact like Mona Lisa says, they're probably no stronger than a heavy dose of Nytol, but they won't mess you up as much the following morning as high dose (not too high, they are dangerous deleriants in doses not far above theraputic, look at the experiences on erowid) Nytol does.

And everyone knows using sleeping pills too often will stop them working. The US FDA also thinks chronic zopiclone use causes cancer.

Sorry bro, this is nonsense. Nytol is a first generation anti-histamine, nothing more, piraton does the same thing. Zopiclone is a hypnotic Z class drug. In terms of knocking you out, z class is in an entirely different league.

It was introduced to be less addictive then benzos. they jury is still out on whether it's true or not, it hasn't been around long enough to tell, a single meta study has been conducted suggesting they are the same. It's on pubmed if you have a subscription.

Don't use them recreationally. Tolerance build slower than benzos but is still there. As both work on same receptor you can't bounce between them. You can move off of a benzo addiction on to zopiclone to recover if done under supervision.

Peace x
