you know, I was thinking. (that's never safe). instead of straight out donations to the site... maybe the site should set up a raffle... you know, secure a certain amount of items from advertisers here at LHF or other places.. then you fuckin sell tickets at one or two dollars or pounds or NZ$ whatever. wait to sell enough "tickets" to cover the shit you "give away"" then sell enough to cover server costs, and other board maintenance. etc. That way, he who donates most has the best chance of winning good stuff. It works on other sites...

look dammit, People aren't going to donate shit to this site unless they get a chance at free stuff, i'm bumping this thread, I'd like to donate, but i'm not just gonna throw money into bullshit. set something up!

Thanks for the thoughts at helping out, but I don't think its worth the hassle of donations any more to be honest, too inconsistent and not enough to be worth it.

I have some advertising lined up that should contribute to the costs and I'll just pick up the rest of the bills for now.

Will be removing the donation button shortly as I only had one small donation (which I chose NOT to accept)

PS. If you still like the idea of a raffle, we could change the 'donation' to a raffle prize pool, no money would go to the site but instead it would go towards prizes!

I've donated to "the sister site" because it seems like I have spent more time on it, but I am opening up to donating here as well soon... a raffle would be nice but I think giving the donators props or "time served" when it comes to considering them for private membership, eh? lol

Theres been like three "contests" in the past two months. A prize pool would drive interest in vendors goods, I would think. And it would be cool. I also would like to hear more about it.
