Right got a bit of a problem. I dont own a telly or should i say a licence, bloody rip of. So i "rent" films and watch em on my lap top. Most on my mates are to busy playin xbox. But Ive got my miss's to think about too. So here's the problem i get people to recommend film. Which is normally old chap from work or my sis and they are normally yank. Like paranormal activites. Wot a load of bull. Rant over! Any films you can suggest like all types normaly. Thanks in advance.
Private torrent trackers are very useful for this kinda stuff.

Some of my favs are:
Jumper,
10,000 bc
In the name of the father
The Warriors,
Johnny Mnemonic,
How To Lose Friends And Alienate People,
I am Legend,
Donnie Darko - best film ever, Watched "S Darko" once and was not too bad,
12 Monkeys,
Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas - Just great,
The Forbidden Kingdom,
All the matrix movies but just love the animatrix,
Monty Python and The Holy Grail,
Dreamcatcher - that quite a unique movie,
Starship Troopers 1 and 3 (skip 2, its totally out of place)
Gattaca,
Children of Men,
V for Vendetta.
BTW p2p will allways be slow check out - http://www.sinlesslinks.com/ out, you may want to sign up for rapidshare though... then you can have more then one part d/l at a time... its something like 7 euros for one month, non-reoccurring... so in my view its worth it... i've now used all my hd space up with in two months though(Tis only 160gb hd).

If you don't have a license though, they send people round to your residence who you have to let in by law and will snoop around to see if you have a TV. It's also very likely if you have anything dodgy looking or the place sticks of cannabis they will tell plod.
On the other hand, if you had CCTV on your door and a couple of weirdos turn up on your doorstep, well, if you didn't answer the door they would just stick a note on it saying "TV LICENCE WE TOLD YOU WE WOULD CALL" like they are trying to embarrass people lol,
I got no TV but do have a TV licence, how dumb is that. Used to not bother with a licence, I know they just go away if you don't answer the door because I saw my ... friend... do it... (he was in the bath of course, had no idea it was the TV people or he would have rushed out and let them in)...
But if you have an old CRT tv they can tell you are watching it without letting them in (it gives off radiation, you can even reconstruct the picture from the radiation). Don't know if they bother now with the equipment with all the LCDs around, but worth thinking of.

Donnie Darko - best film ever, Watched "S Darko" once and was not too bad,
12 Monkeys,
godlike movies
Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas - Just great,
Children of Men,
pretty good
here's some more,
requiem for a dream
slumdog millionaire
fightclub <--- god
le fabuleux destin d'amélie poulain
training day <--- god
the sixth sense
chinatown (1974) <--- god, i've only seen it in black & white, but it's so good that doesn't matter
the notebook <--- you'd have to be a real hard ass not to get moved a little bit by this one.
underground gems:
ruang rak noi nid mahasan (plot summary: A suicidal, obsessive-compulsive Japanese librarian is forced to hide out with a pot-smoking Thai woman at her shabby beachside home.)
brick (really good film-noir, some people don't like it's set in a high school, but the plot is compelling enough the setting is just a stage)
