Pregabalin - Warning

Hi there,

I wanted to use my first thread to tell all you guys to watch out with Pregabalin.

I did 750mg of this one in India, got high, fell asleep and a couple hours later my GF woke me and I got serious seizures... went straight to hospital and lost most memory of this night... I am glad that I am well...

I just wanted to mention this, since there were only posts about it being a problem mixed with K.... but here is my example that it is dangerous by itself in a not crazy dosage as well !!!!

Thank you for your warning and report. Someone else experienced something similar from, I believe, 1000mg as reported on CHamp's forum (now closed).

I was taking it quite often back in the Autumn but now treat it with a lot more respect and stick to doses of 375mg or less.

I believe you, but what the hell sense does it make for something that is made to lessen the chance of seizures triggering them? :confused:

Maybe too high a dose triggers it in some people.

It's five 75mg pills so half the packet :) Enough for a good effect without being too over the top.;)

i dont know but interestingly other anti seizure drugs can cause seizures also, im afriad i just dont know enough about it to even hazard a guess as to why

750mg is a massive dose thats why, u got to build up to it, if u want to do that amount.
once u get used to it, the higher doses are fine. but generally over 600mg is dangerous.

Even building up to isn't doesnt guarantee safety. I was put on gabapentin and its an anti epileptic drug too-I was put on it for nerve pain. I built the dosage up as instructed by my gp and still had a night filled with small seizures.

Something that is very effective for nerve and neuropathic pain, but with less risk of seizures and the like, is amitriptyline, an old-style tri-cyclical anti-depressant. Only thing is, it makes you feel really tired, but does help reduce pain. You may have come across it. It's often used to help sleep disorders and conditions such as CFS, PVFS and ME.

It's generally recognised as one of the most effective drugs for dealing with neuropathic pain.

building up to it, IS safer than doing a massive dose though,than when your body isn't used to it.
as once your body has got used to how the drug works and how u feel on it, it won't be a very sudden shock when u increase the dosage.

Obviously a build up means less body shock, I wasn't arguing that fact BUT from personal experience I was simply pointing out that even with a slow build up into higher doses seizures are possible. :)

ive taken it in doses between 225mg-1g +

600mg is where it starts getting recreational

Makes your muscles relax, and youll feel pissed and slur your words

smoke a bit of weed and watch some really nice movie like CEVS, and the occasional OEV (though you prob need 800mg + for that kinda stuff)
