Medicinal & Shamanic Information:
Elaeagnus leaves have very little scientific research done on them as they are extremely rare and a mystical modern secret. The few studies that have been done show no cancer-causing agents. The active alkaloids are not determined yet but they are quite pronounced, not overly powerful but definitely not a placebo. When crushed and smoked as a cigarette or in a pipe the leaves burn smooth with a very mild flavor. The effects are clear and we can best describe them as a "heady-buzz" that seems to allow drifting thought and contemplation.
