time release capsules

I was thinking about making some time release JWH caplets, and was wondering if anyone knew a good way to make time release pellets.

Easiest way (but Im not sure what sort of time scale ud be looking at) would be your second dose in a smaller wrap or gell cap, then your first dose with the second wrap or gell cap in a larger wrap or gell cap.

it's soo simple, it's kinda stupid I didn't think about it.

I'll give that a shot and see how it goes, I know I can get atleast 4 capsules that can fit in eachother along with 15mg...

If you use normal gel capsules I'm sure this will not work out the way you want it to!
Reason is, that the gel capsules melt very fast when in contact with liquid in the stomack.
So having another gel capsule inside will just delay it maybe by 1-2 minutes but not more.
It's very easy to see, just put one gel capsule in your mouth and keep it there. Usually within less than 1-2 minutes, you will see that it's broken and start to dissolve already.
So this means you will only delay the different doses by a couple of minutes from each other, which could lead to a nasty overdose when stacking multiple doses that way :eek:

heh, thanks for that, I actually thought of this moments after I posted that, when I took some of the caplets I had and threw some exess calcium carbonate powder I had lying around ( Mushy's love that stuff...) and desolved them in a glass of water, and a glass of applejuice w/ 2 shots of vinnegar (thought it would be a better analog for my stomach contents)

threw em in, took less than 20 minutes for the water to get past the first caplet, but only 8 for the last 3... and the applejuice was all less than 10 minutes... this idea wouldn't work out quite right.



I did some research, googleing it and whatnot... and I found out that they use sugar as the suspender... but not any old sugar, but sorta like, jawbreaker sugar. it desolves much slower, so it can be a true time release. unfortunately, I can only think of one good way to introduce the chem to the mix... I've personally thought of a secondary way to do it, a home remedy if you will.... not quite a good idea, but I'll try it out... why not write it down here..

just so I can have notes for this in the future, and incase anyone else was thinking of trying this out, Please note, this is just theory, purely me talking out of my ass.. maybe just looking for constructive criticism.

bubblegum, specificly chickle. this stuff takes FOREVER to desolve out of your stomache. not 7 years like is the old wives tale, but will pass right through you, usually deposited (mostly) whole in the feces. it can remain in the stomache for up to 36 hours after ingestion.


god, 36 hours. not quite what I was hoping for, but I'm still going to try it out.


first off, we have to mix our chem and our base. for that we'll need to know a few things: what is a good oral dose for these, how long/short can we make our tablets last. since I've neither of these answers yet, I'll just leave the math for later. we'll also have to figure out how to properly mix our base with our chem so as to retain consistancy.

possible ways to properly mix our base and chem:
we could desolve both into a solvent and allow it to dry
-- what does gum and our chem both desolve in?

we could heat the gum untill it is a liquid.
-- does gum even become a liquid when heated?
-- how would we heat it
-- how would we stir it
-- would stirring it be enough to cause uniformity?


once we got the chem into our base, we'll need to figure out how big our pellets must be. first off we'll need to spread it out on some glass, and thin it to be about 1mm thick. next we'll need to cut out squares out (1mmx1mm squares) in order to have a collection of 1mm cubes. after which we'll have to figure out how many cubes is a good dose and whether or not to expand the cubes to 2mm (which would extend the delivery)

lots of testing to do, I can already tell I'm going to be ODing on something good thing for me the jwh's are all stable and ld50 is in the multiple kg range lol...



I suppose if I have any luck, I'll post about how I went about it, and the numbers I ended up using..... I'm sure it'd be more than stupidly easy to ship a pack of gum...

haha exactly the same thing i was thinking while reading through this thread.

pharma companies that manufacture time-released crap either attach some other molecule to the active ingredient and/or coat small lil beads containing the stuff then fill a gelcap with like 100 of those small beads.

so yea... not so simple :P

I actually was thinking that if it were a tollerable dose, I'd love to not have to redose for 36 hours. plus, 36 hours was a figure supposedly represented by a whole 'piece' of gum (whatever the size for that is), I think by dividing it into 1mm cubes, that figure will drastically reduce.

IDK, I doubt I'll ever be successful with this in the short term, but I'll do it just to say I did, and for the info.

well firstly: you ARE aware that cannabinergic compounds have recently been found to provoke testicular cancer in men right? hehehe

i'm pretty sure you would have mixed results depending on the brand of gum... i'd say you research every ingredient on the list. buy a cheap/unknown brand of crappy gum, and buy some common/higher quality gum. see which ones have ingredients that "keep it glued together" more than the other, etc....

nonetheless i'd still say you shouldn't try it with gum hehe.

Hows that for time-release: Take a capsule and than, a fiew hours later, take another one? heh sorry, just strikes me as odd why someone would go through so much trouble when he could just do it "manualy".

But other than that your idea could work. Wrap a thin layer of bubble gum arround the inner capsule with the "bumb dose". I also like the idea of simulating the process with apple juice.
