Some pioneers are thinking about building a floating tunnel from New York to London with a magnetically levitated train to cut travel between the two countries in just one hour. The train would travel through the tunnel at 4000 mph. All this with an estimated cost of 88 billion-175 billion.

Anyone here brave enough to embark on that journey?..:eek
I think I would...:D

Mind boggling isn't it.We don't house all of our humans,we don't feed all of our humans,we don't clothe all of our humans,we don't give a shit about anything we aren't forced to look at all day long that may be deemed painful or 'difficult' but we'll spend that kind of money on a fucking train.

Pleas excuse the rant.......I don't want to ruin your thread.........so...........I also have to say isn't that an absolutely amazing concept?? I mean...........WOW. Humanity is also utterly incredible. Imagine being the one who came up with this.Pure genius :D

I agree actually it would be insane to spend all that money on a train when in fact there are much more pressing issues at hand like you described.

Yeah man,its crazy, right? Clean drinking water for the whole world is first in my gripe line to be honest-the feeding, clothing, housing rant is for the US and UK since the train idea is to link the two.

Its a nutso world in sooooooo many ways.

If the Channel Tunnel can't turn a profit and pay it's bondholders how the hell is that going to?
Hell yes I'd go on it though, I hate hights and would hate to fly so that'd be great.

But capitalism doesn't work like that, we could live in a global communist society I suppose but then then everyone would be living in equal poverty like the USSR.
