Has anyone seen this movie?

http://www.zeitgeistmovie.com/

Have heard many good things ... have yet to see it myself (hopefully getting it to watch tonight) but I was curious what your thoughts were.

Think you can find it on most torrent sites as well.

I saw the first half. I thought it provided a refreshing perspective on Christianity. :p
I started losing interest on the conspiracy theory bit and just never finished it.

Hey Neo

I own both Zeitgeist movies. Really enjoyed the first installment.

Find that both movies are great upto a point... usually towards the end where things start to get a little bit too out-there for my liking.

With the 1st Movie it was the whole micro-chip issue. But many months after seeing that I read that some US prisons were looking at chipping all their prisoners, not sure if that has been made a reality as yet.

With the 2nd Movie, the last part where the Venus Project is introduced... after the suggestion to rid ourselves of the current monetary system... to build huge infrastructure projects without explaining who would finance it or build it, mine the raw materials required etc... appeared to me that the Venus Project sounds too utopian and presumes that everyone will just get along to construct this modern society in the face of millenia of human conditioning to do otherwise.

worth seeing tho

Yeah, the first was too conspiritorial for my liking, but definately and eye opener in some regards (some of the questions about 9/11, and how bullshit religion is)

The second was better, as at least it suggested a solution, whereas the first one which just scared the freaking pants off people and made them despair at the state of the world, without offering a main solution. Although the venus project has major flaws, its a very innovative idea, and more people should be thinking about systems like this that could actually be implemented to replace money, greed and material possessions.

Overall, worth watching, worth contemplating, but definately not worth joining the "zeitgeist movement" which is turning into a bit too much of a cult for my liking.

For sure, I liked Zeitgeist before it was hijack by the Venus Movement.

Agreed the the Venus moment is something worth thinking about, a little too utopian for my liking.

And the movement itself is taking on Cult like status, not my thing at all and is why at the end of the day I'm disappointed that that has happened.

My brother who is also interested by the Zeitgeist movies believes that the Zeitgeist movies are the tool in which The Venus Project introduces itself... on its own the Venus project can look a bit crazy, the Zeitgeist movies help shift peoples thinking and ideas of the world and can leave the viewer with the question "so what now then? religion, nationalism, money are all busted"
then Venus Project sneaks in and gives us this completely utopian solution... which ironically to me doesn't sound that much different from what we already have... still controlled. still rats on the turnstile, what I mean is do really think we will spend our days doing whatever we please? stuff will still need done... so people will have to some work and be rewarded for there effort, to make a point of difference between those of us who wanna do nothing... I mean with everyone receiving equal - why should you work if you're gonna get it free anyway, so we'll still have some class structure and those who have and those who have not. either that or the people who choose to do nothing would be expelled from the system, again creating a resource rich society and a poor one outside.
just some random thoughts...

Addentum eh? thanks for bringign it up, will go see it.

The first movie was pretty much correct on its claims on religion, at least i haven't found any evidence to refute their claims anywhere while there's more than enough to support parts.

It's no fun how people have come to use "conspiracy" so negatively and dismissively. So there are no "conspiracies" by people/bastards who want to "conspire" for easy profit in money and power?

Agreed, whilst I haven't watched all of Zeitgeist or Addenum they do lean too much on conspiracies, though as with anything, truth and lies are in everything.

For the most well rounded truth film I have seen, check Kymatica, a wonderful mix of psychology, mythology, history, science and a few conspiracies check Kymatica, only been release last month (Feb 2009).

Have been showing it to even ordinary friends of mine and it's woken them up a lot.
