Yeah I've had this theory since I was pretty young.
Basically, in a summary, I believe that the recessions have all been hoax's and that there is no way that a bank can run out of money, as money is just a digit on a piece of paper, and can be created in a blink of an eye.
I'm not going to go into mucho detail yet, I'd like to hear your views on how insane/sane the theory is :)

Its a conspiracy in as much as any pyramid scheme as that is what fiat money really is.

Yeah. It's a shame, most of the people I know don't really pay attention to what the government are doing.
I think maybe that over many years the government have pressured the general public in to such a narrow state of mind that many people can't even comprehend that some superior force driving the country could possibly be corrupt.
Maybe that's the alcohol speaking out for me, but this is what I truely feel, call it paranoia, I'll call it awareness.

The majority of people have always been to busy with their lives to pay attention. This doesn't bother me nearly as much as the folks who do pay attention and somehow excuse illegal and immoral actions of their government.

correct. Most people are aware that before and after WWII America imported the Nazi scientists but they don't know they also imported the propagandists.

Just becuase your paranoid doesn't mean their not out to get you.

yeah, I live in the states. We're educated here to think we're free and that this is the greatest country in the world... once you finally grow up and realize that a lot of the entire world's misery is actually due to our actions- it's quite depressing. We push democracy all through the world and don't even practice it here. Same families in gov't, same people in power for the last 100+ years. Now the government is doing whatever the hell they want- printing money, spending my tax dollars to fund trips for bank and insurance execs.... What the hell?
On another note, did anyone in the UK get pissed about how gordon brown was received here in the U.S. when he visited? Evidently, they have a traditional gift exchange upon meeting the new U.S. president. obama received a pen holder crafted out of a piece of a wrecked Victorian British Navy Anti-slavery vessel HMS Gannet (I guess it's supposed to be the sister vessel to the one they crafted the desk in the Oval Office in the White House) and Gordon brown received (get this) 25 DVD's of American classic movies. Sometimes I'm embarassed to be a U.S. citizen.....
I'm not sure if I'm still on topic or not, stupid carisoprodol and booze.;)

Well I for one still believe in America, only problem with freedom is to keep it requires eternal vigilance. We have failed in that respect but then Jefferson predicted it would happen, prosperity breeds indifference and complacency. The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants. - Thomas Jefferson

I find it motivating, I am compelled to change things. we needn't feel collective guilt for actions of others we have no control over but we must do our best to bring attention to the truth.
We push democracy all through the world and don't even practice it here.
Why should we? democracy is evil and we are guaranteed a republican form of government for good reason.
Same families in gov't, same people in power for the last 100+ years. Now the government is doing whatever the hell they want- printing money, spending my tax dollars to fund trips for bank and insurance execs.... What the hell?
We have been heading down the wrong path for a long time, the country took a sharp turn straight off the road with Lincoln behind the wheel.

I read and laughed about it, no sovereign nations were invaded and no democracies were overthrown so comparatively we should be proud.
No man is entitled to the blessings of freedom unless he be vigilant in its preservation. -General Douglas MacArthur
"It is the common fate of the indolent to see their rights become a prey to the active. The condition upon which God hath given liberty to man is eternal vigilance; which condition if he break, servitude is at once the consequence of his crime and the punishment of his guilt." -- John Philpot Curran
"But you must remember, my fellow-citizens, that eternal vigilance by the people is the price of liberty, and that you must pay the price if you wish to secure the blessing. It behooves you, therefore, to be watchful in your States as well as in the Federal Government." -- Andrew Jackson
“There is no safety for honest men except by believing all possible evil of evil men.” -- Edmund Burke
"Free government is founded in jealousy, not confidence. It is jealousy and not confidence which prescribes limited constitutions, to bind those we are obliged to trust with power.... In questions of power, then, let no more be heard of confidence in men, but bind him down from mischief by the chains of the Constitution." -- Thomas Jefferson,

How true.
Why is democracy evil? (I realize we're a republic) but why is democracy evil and its okay to have a republic?

Well, I always equate democracy to that famous fake Franklin quote "Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on whats for dinner". I believe that many of the problems this great nation faces are a direct result of democratically usurped power. The main advantage of republicanism is the people in charge have rules they must follow, there are things they just cannot do no matter how popular. In a democracy drugs can be banned if the people can be scared into wanting it so. In a democracy the government can usurp as much power as it can terrorize the people into giving up, in a republic no one has the power to give away rights, in theory. Of course republicanism has its own flaws and weaknesses which is why a democratic constitutional republic is so brilliant. If we stayed within the lines of the Constitution we wouldn't have the bloated dream killer we do now.

i don't think Britain is going to join the Euro anytime soon. There currency will shoot way back up once the world gets passed this resistance. They will devalue their assets in the long run if they combine with the Euro. Britain will wait out the hard times and not give up it's currency.

We'll see, we're already so far into the EU right now that 75% of our laws are made in Brussels, and the British public have had no say in the matter.
I would like tyo see Britain retain her sovereignty but the whole time these puppet governments are in charge I can't see it happening.

The banks are not running out of money (except those that have had bank runs Northern Rock, Indy Mac) but they are drowning in bad debt. It's a classic Minsky Moment
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minsky_moment
non self liquidating debt bubbles to the extent we (UK and US predominantly) have built leads to finanical and economic mayhem every time.

The pound is fucked with our current account deficit, future budget deficits and a fucked up economy. It'll likely have to be devalued sooner or later, the Euro is stronger at the moment because the constituent countries haven't torn it apart yet. The US dollar is sort off the the best of a bad bunch in reserve currency terms but Obamas drunken sailor spending might change that. Swiss Francs or Japanese Yen are the safest currencys.
